Resume Match Checker keeps your resume in your browser. It is sent to our server only when you run a check, together with the job description, and our server does not store or log it.
Data kept in your browser
- Your resume text.
- Your recent results, for 7 days.
- Job descriptions you pasted.
It stays on your device and is removed when you uninstall the extension.
Data sent to our server
- Your resume text and the job description, when you run a check. They are used only to compute the match and are not stored or logged.
Our server logs each request (your IP address, the page's domain and the length of the texts; never the resume or the job text) to fix errors and stop abuse. The logs are deleted after 30 days.
Services that process data for us
- Google Cloud Run hosts our server and its logs.
- OpenRouter passes the request to an AI model provider and returns the answer. The provider is required not to keep your data or train on it.
What we never do
- Sell or rent your data, or share it for advertising.
- Use it for anything other than the extension's single purpose described above.
- Use it to decide creditworthiness or for lending.
- Track your browsing history or activity on other sites.
The use of information received by the extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Feedback and uninstall surveys
If you choose to fill in our feedback form or the survey that opens after you uninstall, your answers are collected with Google Forms. They contain only what you type, and we use them only to improve the extension. Google's privacy policy applies to Google Forms.
Permissions
- sidePanel
- The interface (the resume, the job, the score, keywords and tips) lives in the side panel.
- activeTab
- Gives access to the job posting you are viewing when you open the side panel.
- tabs
- Finds the job tab and follows it when you open another job.
- scripting
- Reads the job title, company and description from the job page.
- storage
- Keeps your resume, recent results and pasted job descriptions in your browser.
- Access to all websites
- Jobs are posted on thousands of job boards and career sites; the job reader and the "Check match" button must work on any of them. The button appears only on job postings.
Children
The extension is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
When this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
